Salmon River

This river used to be known by a different name. It was called the Cruor River, a name literally meaning blood river. The name stemmed from an old Ferinus legend claiming that a great battle had taken place on it's banks, and that so much blood was shed that it actually made the water run red. After the Ferinus left these lands, the river was renamed the Salmon River for the hordes of sockeye salmon that make the journey upriver to spawn each autumn. The river becomes the center of all activity in the spawning season. It's like an all-you-can-eat buffet for carnivores like bears, eagles and wolves.
