Freedom whispers, encouraging many a soul to live life to its fullest, even when tragedies strike. Wolves' howls echo through the air regularly, frequently, and their companions of separate species accompany them in their treks and rests.
Here, they thrive, in packs and as loners. Here, where those of the land are considered children of the wild, three packs reside, with many loners. Peace may be challenged, among themselves and hunters, but forever shall they thrive, forever shall their blood survive...

The Noob's Guide to This Site « Thread Started on Aug 28, 2008, 1:57am »
Greetings, noob! My name is Ulrich, and I'm here to say congratulations! You have recently joined one of the hottest wolf RPGs in the RPG community. Now what to do? This is your layman's guide to the do's and don'ts of this site. Follow the tips below to ensure yours and everyone else's enjoyment and sanity while roleplaying.
**Note: The Noob Questions are bold and underlined, and my smartass remarks are in plain font.
I want to make a wolfie, but what oh WHAT do I do?
Well, do you see that cute little board called "Becoming the Beast" in the Character Creation category? Shockingly enough, there you have everything you need to create a character. Kestrel (the Admin) has posted the necessary template, and from there just FILL OUT THE NECESSARY INFO. ALL OF IT.
Yes, ten sentences are REQUIRED for appearance and personality and fifteen for the history. Honestly, it's not that hard; if your character is even somewhat interesting, ten sentences is hardly much to ask. Come on, be creative with your wolf! It's more fun, trust me.
How do I get a pretty picture of my wolfie on the board for everyone to see?
Go to a photo site. If you don't have an account, get one if it's nessicery. It's easier than Paris Hilton. Copy the IMG code, and paste it into your sig. And try to use a picture that hasn't been used already. There are many photo sites to choose from: Google, Flickr, Photobucket, Bing, etc.
What's the best pack to join?
Mine! Duh.
In all seriousness though... it depends on your wolf. If your wolf is bloodthirsty, violent, or "evil," as they say, Ferinus may be your best bet. If your wolf is cunning and values brain over brawn, then go with Sol'Caedo. If your wolf is peaceful and thoughtful, go for Lu'a Veho. If you wolf has some inner demons or soul-finding to do, the kindly Stella'Kor pack is for you. If your wolf is an outcast, has a problem with authority, likes his privacy, or you just can't decide between these four magnificent packs, then be a Loner.
All these cool plots are going on without me! How do I get in on the action?
Go. Be. Do. Start out in the smaller threads; make friends, gain enemies, start ripples in the plot. If you're part of a pack, do some service for your superiors. You may get promoted. Don't think because you're a loner, you can't get in on some action too. If you actively interact with your packmates and others, eventually the action will come to you.
Or, you can always check out the "Character/ Roleplay Related" board under the Character Creation board. There's always someone looking for something, and the opportunity to create your own thread.
Three lines per post? But I can't type that much!! Can't I just cheat a little?
Come ON. Three lines could barely cover a drink from the stream. Your post doesn't have to be all movements and speech. There's thought that you could outline, or memories, even. Hell, you could even describe the beautiful sunny day out. Or dark stormy night. Whatever floats your boat. Point is, EVERYONE on the site manages to post beyond the required three lines 90% of the time, so just deal. You could post exactly three lines 100% of the time, it really doesn't matter.
If you really can't post that much, then check out the forum's RP school.
Why is this person calling me a "brute"? I'm not THAT mean, am I?
We have exclusive terminology on this site. Aren't we awesome? Makes you wanna come on every day. Go to the "Forum Overview" board (the one this thread is in!), and you'll find the meanings of all our crazy words.
I find the term "noob" offensive. What makes me a noob?
You come on here, ignore crystal-clear rules, and ask stupid questions. That's what.
