Prologue

In the beginning, the land was shared by three great wolf packs; the Ferinus, who valued brute strength and ferocity. The Sol'Caedo, who prized sharp wit and stealth. And the Lu'a Veho, who treasured serenity and beauty. For generations, the three packs coexisted in peace. Encounters between them were few, and rarely sparked violence.

But the Ferinus, eager to expand their territory as their pack grew ever larger, began to impose on their closest neighbor, the Sol'Caedo. Tension between the two packs rose with each encounter, until finally fighting broke out. After a terrible battle that claimed several lives, the Ferinus were defeated. To end the fighting once and for all, the Ferinus agreed to banish their Alpha to the mountains.

Without a leader to guide them, the pack eventually dissolved, and thus the greatest threat to the wolves of these lands was ended and the packs were at peace once again.

9 years later, a new enemy has emerged. One far more deadly than even the most bloodthirsty Ferinus wolf.

A man struck gold in the river, and almost overnight the small hunting camp by the river has been developed into a town, complete with an inn, a general store and a saloon. People from across the country have been flocking to Fortune City in droves, each with ambitions of getting filthy stinking rich.

It has cost the Sol'Caedo pack their home. As soon as the settlers arrived, they began exterminating the local wolf pack without mercy. Some of the survivors banded together with the Lu'a Veho, while others have disappeared altogether.

Year One

Its winter here in the lands of Children of the Wild. The prey is starting to hide away in its den or head south for the winter. Wolves are starting to drop weight, but this winter is as bad as previous ones..

The prey count is dropping drastically as all the prey hides away or runs away. Experienced hunters will be catching more food than younger wolves. The packs are on edge as they are all growing hungrier.

During the winter you may breed but you cannot give birth.

Spring is in: January, May, and September. Summer is in: February, June, and October. Autumn is in: March, July, and November. Winter is in: April, August, and December.

Please do not steal from Children of the Wild. We have all worked hard to make this an aesthetically pleasing, but also welcoming site. Do not copy codes, find them yourself. [ ]Salmon River (1 sub-board)
This river used to be known by a different name. It was called the Cruor River, a name literally meaning blood river. The name stemmed from an old Ferinus legend claiming that a great battle had taken place on it's banks, and that so much blood was shed that it actually made the water run red. After the Ferinus left these lands, the river was renamed the Salmon River, for the hordes of sockeye salmon that make the journey upriver to spawn each autumn. The river becomes the center of all activity in the spawning season. It's like an all-you-can-eat buffet for carnivores like bears, eagles and wolves.

[ ]Fortune City (2 sub-boards)
What used to be a small hunting camp on the East bank of the Salmon River has experienced a population explosion over the span of several weeks. Named after the lucky man who struck gold in the river and kicked off the latest Gold Rush, a prospector called Frank Fortune, this small town with a population of about 2000 people has made a huge impact on the wild creatures of this land. Needless to say, most wolves avoid this strange place at all costs. For the most part, the only animals that come here are either domesticated or dead. Still, there are some brave souls, or suicidal idiots, who dare to enter Man's domain.
